Bose has just launched the QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen), a $359 update that brings its flagship Immersive Audio tech and improved noise cancellation down from the pricier QuietComfort Ultra line. The headphones opened for pre-order on August 8 and started shipping on August 13, 2026 — and the good news for Kenyan buyers is that the same Immersive Audio technology is already sitting on trewrld's shelves in Nairobi, in headphones that cost far less in KES than a fresh US import would.
What's New in the QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen)
The refreshed QuietComfort Headphones add Bose Immersive Audio with TrueSpatial technology (previously reserved for the more expensive QuietComfort Ultra), improved active noise cancellation, and lossless USB-C audio support. A six-microphone array uses adaptive feedforward processing to compensate for a broken ear-cup seal caused by glasses, hats, or thick hair. Battery life is rated up to 24 hours (18 hours with Immersive Audio switched on), with 15 minutes of fast charging good for roughly 2.5 hours of playback. They run Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint connections and Google Fast Pair, and ship in five colours: Eucalyptus Green, Black, White Smoke, Rosewood Mauve, and Dewdrop Mint.
Why This Matters for Kenyan Buyers
At today's exchange rate, $359 converts to roughly KES 46,500 — before shipping, import duty, and VAT are added, which typically push a freshly imported US-market gadget well above its sticker price by the time it clears customs in Nairobi. The 2nd Gen model isn't stocked locally yet, so anyone importing one directly should budget for that markup and for the wait on international shipping.
The upside: the exact feature Bose is using to sell this new model — Immersive Audio — already shipped on the original QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, which trewrld carries in Nairobi at a fraction of the imported price, with local warranty support and no customs wait.
Get Immersive Audio in Kenya Right Now
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones at trewrld already run Bose's Immersive Audio with up to 24 hours of battery life (18 hours with Immersive Audio on), Bluetooth 5.3, and the same 15-minute-fast-charge-for-2.5-hours trick the new model keeps. If Immersive Audio isn't a must-have and you just want strong, reliable ANC, the Bose QuietComfort 45 is a simpler, well-proven alternative at a lower Nairobi price.
FAQ
Is the Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) available in Kenya yet?
Not through official retail channels as of this post. It only began shipping in the US on August 13, 2026, and international availability typically follows weeks to months later.
What's the difference between the QuietComfort Ultra and the new QuietComfort (2nd Gen)?
The Ultra remains the higher-end model with additional refinements, but the new $359 QuietComfort (2nd Gen) borrows the Ultra's headline feature — Immersive Audio — at a lower price. The original QuietComfort Ultra, sold at trewrld, already has that same Immersive Audio tech.
Do these headphones work well with Safaricom or Airtel phones in Kenya?
Yes — Bluetooth-based ANC headphones like these pair with any Android or iPhone regardless of network carrier; there's no SIM or network dependency.
