Nothing's budget sub-brand CMF has just launched its most expensive earbuds yet: the Clip Pro, a pair of open-ear earbuds priced at $99 (about KES 12,800), a big step up from CMF's usual $20–$50 range. They ship to the US, UK and Japan starting August 15, 2026, with Europe and the rest of the world following September 15. There's no Kenya or East Africa launch date on the books, but the announcement is a good moment to look at what open-ear earbuds actually do — and which genuine CMF earbuds Kenyan buyers can already get today.
What the CMF Clip Pro Actually Offers
Instead of sitting inside your ear canal, the Clip Pro clips onto your ear using a three-point design built around a 0.5mm titanium-wire “C-bridge,” weighing just 6.5g per bud. Each earbud pairs a 13.8mm “listening ball” with a 10.8mm dual-magnet dynamic driver, and CMF calls its bass-boosting feature Ultra Bass Technology — open-ear designs typically struggle with low-end punch since there's no seal against your ear canal.
The Clip Pro is Hi-Res Audio certified with LDAC, AAC and SBC support, and includes an app-controlled “sound seal system” that reduces how much audio leaks out to people around you, with Off, Calls Only, and Audio and Calls modes. A dedicated Voice Processing Unit with four microphones handles calls, and the case keeps CMF's signature rotating Smart Dial for volume and playback control. Battery life is rated at 10 hours per bud and 32.5 hours total with the case (36 hours in Long Battery Mode), with a 10-minute charge adding roughly 4 hours. It's IP54 rated with Bluetooth 5.4 and a low-latency gaming mode, and it comes in Dark Grey, Light Grey and Coral.
Why Open-Ear Earbuds Actually Make Sense in Kenya
Open-ear and clip-on earbuds trade some noise isolation and bass for one big advantage: you can still hear what's around you. That's genuinely useful in Nairobi traffic, on boda bodas, crossing Kenyatta Avenue with earbuds in, or running in Karura Forest or along Ngong Road where you want to hear approaching vehicles or cyclists rather than being sealed off by noise-cancelling in-ears. They're also less fatiguing over a full workday of calls, since nothing is pressed into your ear canal for eight hours straight.
What You Can Actually Buy in Kenya Right Now
The Clip Pro itself has no confirmed Kenya release date, so it isn't sold at trewrld yet — and we won't list a product as available until it's genuinely in stock. But CMF already sells several earbuds in Kenya today, including the CMF Buds 2 Plus and CMF Buds Pro 2, both genuine stock with M-Pesa payment and Nairobi delivery. If you want the open-ear, awareness-first design specifically, that's the category to watch for when CMF confirms wider availability — in the meantime, these are the real CMF options on shelves now.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CMF Clip Pro available in Kenya yet?
Not yet. It's shipping first to the US, UK and Japan on August 15, 2026, then Europe and most other regions on September 15. CMF hasn't announced a Kenya or East Africa date.
What's the difference between the Clip Pro and CMF's regular earbuds like the Buds 2 Plus?
The Buds 2 Plus are in-ear earbuds that seal your ear canal for stronger bass and passive noise blocking. The Clip Pro is open-ear, clipping onto your ear instead, trading some bass and isolation for the ability to hear your surroundings.
Are CMF earbuds sold at trewrld genuine?
Yes. trewrld sells genuine CMF stock with manufacturer-backed warranty, M-Pesa payment, and delivery across Nairobi and countrywide.
