Who It's Ideal For

Developers, designers and editors who want a fast, portable pro laptop.
Professionals upgrading from an Intel MacBook or an M1 or M2 model.
Teams who want reliable all-day battery.

Who Should Consider Something Else

Buyers who want the new OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro, which uses M5 Pro or M5 Max chips.
Light users who would be better served by a MacBook Air at a lower price.

Pros

Newest M6 chip with 1TB storage as standard.
Excellent display and battery life.

Cons

Priced well above a MacBook Air.
Sourced to order, so there is a lead time.

The MacBook Pro M5 is a lower-priced option already in the trewrld range. For a Windows alternative, the Dell XPS 14 or Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon offer premium builds, though not the same battery life per charge.
