Its size makes it the speaker you actually carry every day — into a boda backpack, onto a work desk during load-shedding when the office system is down, or along on a weekend matatu trip upcountry — and the IP67 rating means Kenya's rainy season isn't a concern.
Who It's Ideal For
- Students and first-time JBL buyers who want genuine sound on a tight budget.
- Anyone who wants the smallest, most pocketable speaker in trewrld's JBL range.
- Buyers who mainly listen solo or in a small room, not hosting groups.
Who Should Consider Something Else
- Anyone wanting louder, bassier sound should look at the JBL Go 3 or JBL Go 4 instead.
- Buyers who need all-day battery life should consider the JBL Charge 5 or JBL Flip 6.
Pros
- Lowest price point in trewrld's genuine JBL portable-speaker range.
- Genuinely pocket-sized without feeling like a toy.
- Real IP67 waterproofing at this price is rare.
Cons
- 5-hour battery is shorter than every other JBL model trewrld carries.
- 3.1W output is quiet compared to the Go 3 and Go 4 — built for near-field listening, not filling a room.
Against the JBL Go 3 and JBL Go 4 already in trewrld's range, the Go Essential 2 trades some power and battery life for an even lower price and smaller footprint — the right pick if budget and pocketability matter more than volume.
"They have great products at good prices, and the payment-on-delivery option is a plus. My order arrived on time, exactly as described." — nicole ayoti, Google review
Verdict: At KES 7,000, the JBL Go Essential 2 is the entry point into genuine JBL sound — small, waterproof, and honest about what it is: a personal speaker, not a party one. Sourced to order through trewrld for buyers who want real JBL quality without the higher price tag.
